FAQ
Does VeasDei work without internet?
Yes, for measuring. You can tap corners on the map, use the crosshair, measure distance and area, save plots and export them (KML, CSV, GeoJSON, GPX, KMZ, Shapefile, DXF, PDF, PNG) with no connection at all. Only the map imagery, place search, directions and share links need internet — when there is none, the app says so plainly and everything else keeps working.
I denied location. Is the app still usable?
Yes. You will see a short banner with a button that opens Settings, and you can still measure by tapping corners on the map or by using the crosshair. Location is only needed to show where you are and for GPS walk mode.
How accurate are the measurements?
Distances and areas are computed from GPS or map coordinates with a geodesic (WGS-84) method, and every result card, PDF and export carries the note “For reference only — not an official survey”. For anything legal, a licensed surveyor with proper instruments is required.
Where is my data stored? Can I back it up?
Everything stays on your iPhone, inside the app. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share a link. To keep a backup, open the saved plots screen and use “Export all plots” — it gives you one KML and one CSV with every plot — and save that file to iCloud Drive, Files or your computer. What is a share link, and can I remove it?
A share link is optional. When you choose to share a plot, the app uploads its corner points, area and perimeter, and, only if you entered them, the land title number and title area. Anyone with the link can see these. Nothing else is sent: no plot name, no note, no device identifier and no location history. You can delete your link from inside the app at any time, and the page stops working immediately.
Why does the app ask me to rate it?
After you save your third plot, we ask once whether you would like to rate VeasDei on the App Store. It appears at most once and never blocks the app — you can ignore it.
